NEWS! Wisdom Yoga Institute is the first Australian Yoga Therapy training school to be accredited by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). Now our eligible graduates can apply for the C-IAYT certification.
Wisdom Yoga Therapists are qualified and experienced yoga teachers who have undertaken post graduate study in the art and science of using yoga as a therapeutic modality. As a growing field of complementary therapy, the tools of yoga and meditation are sought after in a variety of health care settings, and can be deeply supportive for people experiencing health issues. Yoga Therapy is client-centred, holistic, evidence-informed and trauma-sensitive. Our 650 hour post graduate Yoga Therapy teacher training is registered with Yoga Australia. Our 800 hour Yoga Therapy teacher training is accredited with IAYT. Workshops can also be used for CE/CPD with Yoga Australia and Yoga Alliance. We are YACEP providers.
Yoga Teachers can undertake single days, weekends, or longer trainings to equip them to work with diverse groups of people including those with cancer, arthritis, chronic pain, mental health, trauma, cardiovascular disease, menopause, polycystic ovarian syndrome, dysmenorrhoea, pre-menstrual syndromes, diabetes, and at the end of life.
Skills include motivational interviewing, communication skills, wellness coaching, teaching pranayama, therapeutic meditation, Yoga Nidra, restorative yoga, creating a referral network, business planning, marketing, programme planning, intake and assessment skills, and more.
Offered over weekends in Australia, and as intensives in Asia, the full programme includes online mentoring and practicums in your own community, where you bring Yoga Therapy to the underserved through not-for-profit placements. Enrolment is rolling, meaning you can start with any of the workshops and gradually add to your skills as per your interest. See the flowchart for more information.
